Where is Wessex
If you been to Mayfaire, classy shopping will soon give way to the northern entrance of Landfall followed by the lesser known Covil Farms Rd whose country like meander links to several quality subdivisions. This area has tremendous bragging rights and is one of my preferred picks if you want to be close to Wrightsville Beach (only 3.5 miles) or just about anything else. One of my favorite subdivisions are the homes of Wessex at Vantage Point.
So what bragging points do Wessex and the subdivisions of Covil Farms have? Location, Location, Location. It’s the old cliché in real estate but this area quickly allows you easy access to most of central/northern Wilmington. Want to get a round of golf in at Porter’s Neck Country Club-just a 10 minute drive up Market St. How about dinner on the riverfront in downtown Wilmington-only a 15 minute drive on Market St the other way. For those who prefer two wheels, there is a wonderful bike path that connects you to all the Mayfaire and Landfall shopping and continues straight on to Wrightsville Beach. A closer inspection of Covil Farms reveals a collection of moderate to above average real estate values. Healthy home values encourage pride in ownership and long term appeal. You will also notice the area is surrounded with an abundance of mature trees-the kind of luscious nature not found in brand new communities. Lastly the community pool and playground is hugely popular with local families.
Wessex at Vantage Point holds a premier status as evidenced by the variety of custom homes and polished curb appeal. You’ll notice above average lot space, wood slat driveways leading to enlarged carports and even one estate home with its own gated entrance situated on the local marsh (currently for sale at $875,000).
